Welcome to Darlington, Wisconsin!

Darlington, WI, is the charming county seat of Lafayette County and one of Wisconsin's most picturesque communities. Darlington is located in the gently rolling countryside of Southwest Wisconsin. Darlington is known as the "Pearl of the Pecatonica" for the time when people harvested clams out of the river to produce pearl button blanks. We owe it to you to tell you about this special place. Whether you are interested in history, recreation, shopping, or more, it's all right here.

The Water Utility Staff are also available to assist you by inspecting our water service line and internal plumbing, if needed, to complete this survey.

How do I reserve a Shelter House or the Senior Center?

There is a $50 reservation fee for the Shelter House. You may visit https://darlingtonwi.org/book-a-venue/ to make your shelter house reservation(s) online and submit your payment for the reservation(s).

  • You may still make your reservations by calling the City Office at 776-4970 or stop during regular business hours, Monday - Thursday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm and Friday 7:30 am – 1:30 pm.

The Senior Center requires a reservation fee with an additional refundable deposit. Call the City Office at 776-4970 or stop during regular business hours, Monday - Thursday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm and Friday 7:30 am – 1:30 pm.

Where do I pay my Property Taxes?

The first portion, or full, amount of the Property Tax Bill needs to be paid to the City of Darlington Treasurer by January 31st.

Either in person at the City Office, 627 Main Street, during regular business hours, Monday - Thursday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm and Friday 7:30 am – 1:30 pm

Or by mail, P.O. Box 207, Darlington, WI 53530.

The second portion of the Property Tax bill needs to be paid to the Lafayette County Treasurer

Either in person at the Treasurer’s Office located in the Courthouse, 626 Main Street, during regular business hours, Monday - Thursday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm and Friday 7:30 am – 1:30 pm

Where do I get more information about garbage collection and recycling?
